Tim Muldoon

General Manager

  • In his current position as the General Manager of the SMG managed David L. Lawrence Convention Center Tim is responsible for directing the daily operations of the convention center to include event management, sales & marketing, engineering, maintenance and finance while maintaining oversight of food & beverage and parking operations. With over 25 years of experience in the event management industry, Tim has developed a unique insight into the inner workings of this ever changing field. With the first-hand knowledge that Tim has gained over the years, he has been able to successfully develop and institute an aggressive sales strategy for each business unit of the convention center while simultaneously developing various cost control measures.    

    Additionally, through Tim’s leadership and guidance, the David L. Convention Center has maintained its status as the “greenest” convention center in the United States. The Center has been awarded Platinum LEED certification by the US Green Building Council.  This prestigious award recognizes the Center’s efforts in a variety of sustainable practices throughout the organization to include water conservation, energy reduction, improved air quality and a strategy that emphasizes three R’s (reuse, re-purpose and recycle). 

    Prior to his current position, Tim served as a Regional General Manager for SMG, the world leading facility management company. Additionally, he has worked for two of the largest tradeshow companies in the United States; Reed Exhibition Companies and George Little Management. 

    Tim is a graduate of LaSalle University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management. Additionally, he is a member of several event management industry organizations such as PCMA and IAVM.
